“The real price of everything, what everything really costs to the man who wants to acquire it, is the toil and trouble of acquiring it.” - Adam Smith

Mike Schoeffler

My name is Mike Schoeffler. I’m a former risk manager for a $9 BN regional bank. Before that, I made simulators for oil refineries and power plants. Now I run Profitdesk Software, a software company that helps banks set better deposit rates.

This blog bridges the world of banking and software, by passing on lessons learned in either area. Expect additional digressions on pricing, finance, and statistics. Things I won’t post about: religion and politics.
